With a layout inspired by the old pulp horror magazines like Weird Tales and gameplay mechanics drawn from The Cthulhu Hack and Brindlewood Bay RPGs, Cthulhu Bay offers a fresh take on uncovering cosmic horrors.
This 'zine-format game includes simple yet innovative rules that allow players to dive into its gripping investigations — known as Tales — and unravel the mysteries behind them. In Cthulhu Bay, there are no predetermined endings. As players gather Clues throughout the game, they weave together their own interpretations of events, ultimately shaping a unique epilogue for each Tale. The game encourages creativity and offers endless possibilities in its storytelling structure.
